Welcome to the Royal Savoy Vacation Club

Dear Friends and Members,

As Madeira returns to normaility following the recent fires, the Royal Savoy Vacation Club would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all the kind messages of concern and solidarity.

We are grateful that there is no record of any incident affecting our Hotels and Resorts or the wellbeing of our guests.  We are aware however, that sadly several staff members were personally affected.

We would like to highlight and praise the hard work and full commitment of the local and national entities, which, together with private businesses and the public in general, are ensuring that life returns to normality in the shortest period of time. From our side, we have been collaborating and contributing with the supply of goods and food to support the firefighters and
those who were evacuated as well as our full readiness to accommodate any affected tourists.

We are sure that with the help of everyone, our beautiful “Pearl of the Atlantic” will quickly recover its original charm and stunning landscape that never ceases to amaze those who visit us.

With thanks and good wishes,

The RSVC team

Since the early 1900's, the Hotel Savoy has welcomed discerning visitors to Madeira. From a small family business with humble ambitions and the name "Royal Hotel", grew a tradition of sincere and discerning hospitality. In 1914 the hotel's name was changed to the Hotel Savoy and subsequently had so much success that the hotel was twice extended to be able to cater for the ever increasing demand for its unique atmosphere and facilities.
In the early days, visitors were brought to the hotel by bullock cart from the harbour. The first taxi on the island was hired to replace the bullock carts and well before the islands airport was built, a flying boat service was introduced from Southampton to Madeira. Many famous celebrities came to the Hotel Savoy, as its reputation for excellence grew worldwide.
The Royal Savoy opened in April 2002, a century after its first inauguration and is the latest enhancement to the facilities offered by the Savoy Group. Built at a cost of some €40 million, the complex consists of 162 Apartments of which there are 101 Studio's, 41 One-bedrooms units and 20 Two-bedroom suites.
