Last minute news

We wish to take this opportunity to thank all those members who have contacted us to offer support.

The Royal Savoy wishes to reassure all it's members that the Resort has suffered no loss due to the floods and landslides that occurred over the weekend. The Royal Savoy and the surrounding area are unharmed by the deluge. Some of the Staff have had damage to homes and property but fortunately we have had no news so far of any loss of life.

The floodwater damage is concentrated in the lower part of the capital, Funchal, and in the lower area of Ribeira Brava. Some of the high lying regions are cut off but efforts are continuing by the authorities to clear all the debris and open all the roads as soon as possible to return the Island to it's normal activities.

The airport is open and the highway has already been cleared to allow easy access to the various towns. The main roads around Funchal are clear and allow access to the higher regions and the Lido zone.

We will keep you apprised.

Best Regards,
Royal Savoy Vacation Ownership
